Yorkshire Water chief executive to step down
Nicola Shaw will leave her role as Yorkshire Water’s chief executive on 1 January after leading the company since 2022.
Nicola Medalova is due to replace Shaw. She worked at National Grid before.
She is a chartered environmental health officer.
The Environment Agency gave Yorkshire Water one star. This is the lowest rating.
It called the company poorly performing.
There were 260 pollution incidents in 2025. This was the highest number since 2011.
Shaw said leading Yorkshire Water was a privilege. She said it was time to leave.
Ofwat announced a £47 million fine in 2024. It was for old sewage leaks.
